1. About

Hi, I’m Wes. I grew up in New Jersey, 30 minutes away from Atlantic City. In high school, I played guitar, sang and booked shows for a band called hola dulce. My hair was stupid long. We played with the Early November, Hidden in Plain View, the Progress, and other moderately successful East Coast emo bands. Ask anyone and they’ll tell you that with my talent, I needed to sell my gear.

I graduated from the University of Delaware in 2008 with a major in English and a concentration in journalism. In two words, college ruled. I am the proud former Editor in Chief of the university’s newspaper, The Review.

Just like Pretty Flacco, I left Newark and headed down south — a straight, 60-minute shot down 95 — to Baltimore, a city I’ve grown to love for many reasons. I currently write about music and the city’s nightlife scene for the Baltimore Sun and its weekly tabloid for young readers, b, but this Tumblr has nothing to do with them. (Other than the links I post to my work. Yup, I have no problem being that guy. Speaking of, peep game.)

I used to write longer in this space but life has turned this into another typical cool-photo/sweet-song/haha-.gif blog. I plan on fixing that problem soon.

Feel free to ask me something. I’m also on Twitter — @wesleycase was the original account and the one I still use most. Then my editor saw me RT something with “fuck” in it and I had to get a “professional” account (@louder_now, named after my short-lived music blog for b — I now blog for the Sun here). Ah, this is life now

I’ve gone on long enough, and if you made it this far — awesome, you rule. Now let’s talk about music or movies or something else. Quick!
